Today we begin archiving the artwork of Mr Peter Trout. Mr Trout had carved a living out of painting medical illustrations. He had graduated aged 16 at a technical college in Oxford where he excelled in the artform. He worked extensively with universities and book publishers across the world.
After visiting the theatre with his wife Daphne one night, only a few strides from their home, a group of five men suddenly dragged them into the park opposite which, just before midnight, was pitch black.
Two of them pinned down Mr Trout and two of them pinned down his wife. The fifth held a hammer to Daphne’s head and told Mr Trout to hand over the keys to his home.
When Mr Trout tried to reason with them, Daphne received a fatal blow to the head. Mr Trout fell into a state of shock. Unable to communicate with the gang, he also received a blow to his head which he wouldn’t wake up from for thirteen days and nights.
When he finally came around, he was unable to move or talk properly. He just seemed to slur at anyone around him in a nonsensical fashion. From here, the descent into madness was rapid. We will cover this in the next collection.
Enjoy your week.
