Today we return to Cumbria where the Druids have always had a large presence albeit virtually unknown until now. Once upon a time there were many monuments dotted around the Lake District as well as across the north western coastlines.
We have been told that today some are well hidden and some have disappeared entirely. Some require digging up. We have our team studying these images to see if they can pinpoint a location. However, early research indicates that this might prove impossible.
The other interesting aspect of this particular collection is the priests (also known as sorcerers) in photograph #2 and photograph #6. The priests believed that the instruments they were holding, along with certain prayer, attracted the very light source Edrick the Great talked about. It was a sacred ritual known as sourcing.
One of the priests’ principle duties was to watch over the monuments. This required dedicating an entire year of their lives to living inside them. They were only permitted to leave for spiritual matters and service. Outside of that they were expected to study scripture for a minimum of 12 hours a day alongside sourcing.
Regardless, this was seen as an obligation and an honour for many of the followers. It allowed them to get closer to the source and the everlasting peace it brought to their world.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
